About Me

So you want to know more about me, eh?

Well, I'm tempted to just have a bio that reads, Randi Kay Olsen: I do all of the things, all of the time. And though it is impossible to make such a claim, it's how I feel most days.

I delight in learning new things, seeing new places, overcoming new challenges, connecting with people in new ways. This is why I do all that I do. Fulfillment doesn't come to me by staying in one place, doing the same thing everyday. And so I travel. I write. I work in an industry that requires me to keep learning and growing and connecting.

Nitty gritty facts that might interest you:

In 2008, I graduated from Healing Mountain Massage School in Salt Lake City, UT, and I've had my own massage practice ever since.

In 2009, I became a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance through the Marianne Wells Yoga School in Costa Rica and still teach public and private classes.

In 2011, I graduated with honors from Utah State University with a BA in English, Creative Writing Emphasis.

Currently, my day job is managing the Massage Therapy Program at a career college here in town, teaching classes and administrating. I absolutely love it. I love that my day job has everything to do with one of my biggest passions.

On the side, I play folk music with two different bands, perform with a local improv group, freelance write and edit for various publications, run Randi Kay Healing Arts and Lifeuprooted.com, and travel the world whenever I can.

Other, more different facts to know:

I'm originally from Fargo, and I moved back here in 2012, but in between I lived in 4 states and 3 countries.

I've traveled to 12 different foreign lands, but my list is never ending.

My lifelong goal is to build a yurt in my backyard that will serve as my sanctuary for massage and yoga.
